Business Development Director
We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Director who has a demonstrated track record in sales. Pivot to use your accounting or finance career in a different way that’s fun, lucrative, and rewarding.
The Business Development Director at Scouts is responsible for driving profitable growth through client development sales activities. This position is responsible for pursuing, maintaining, and growing sales relationships with existing and/or new accounts. Typical client contacts are executives in the financial area of a corporation: CFOs, Controllers, Finance Directors, etc.
Responsibilities include:
- Sales and business development, scheduling and conducting client visits, and contract rate and fee negotiations
- Build a book of business by managing multiple client relationships and engagements. Draw on past accounting/finance or consulting experience to advise clients on staffing solutions.
- Work in tandem with recruiting team to determine appropriate consultant for engagements to achieve optimum results for client
- Negotiate consultant pay and bill rates to be fair and competitive
- Handle performance feedback of talent placed at client site
- Assist in client and candidate interview preparation
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required experience:
- Background in finance or accounting
- Bachelor’s degree (in accounting or finance a plus)
- Business development experience a plus
- Public accounting experience a plus
This position has strong earning potential with a base salary and an uncapped commission plan.

Talent Relationship Director

This is not a transactional recruiting role.
As a Talent Relationship Director at Scouts, you will own and grow a network of high-quality finance and accounting professionals. You’ll partner closely with Business Development to deliver exceptional talent, while also serving as a trusted advisor to candidates throughout their careers.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, enjoys building relationships, and takes pride in matching the right people to the right opportunities.
What You’ll Do
Build & Manage Talent Pipeline
- Proactively source, identify, and engage accounting and finance professionals (Sr. Accountants, Financial Analysts, Controllers, etc.)
- Develop and maintain a strong, active pipeline of consultants for current and future client needs
- Leverage LinkedIn, referrals, networking events, and internal database to continuously expand your network
Candidate Relationship Management
- Conduct thoughtful screenings to assess technical skills, experience, and cultural fit
- Build long-term relationships and act as a career advisor to candidates
- Maintain consistent communication throughout the recruiting lifecycle and beyond
Client Delivery & Collaboration
- Partner closely with Business Development Managers to understand client needs and priorities
- Present well-matched, high-quality candidates and articulate their value
- Prepare candidates for interviews and coach them through the process
- Gather feedback and continuously refine candidate alignment
Execution & Process Excellence
- Manage candidate data within the ATS and ensure accuracy and organization
- Coordinate onboarding activities including background checks and documentation
- Stay informed on market trends, compensation benchmarks, and competitor activity
Brand & Community Building
- Represent Scouts in the market through networking and relationship-building
- Contribute to a collaborative, positive, and high-performing team culture

What We’re Looking For
Experience
- 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience (agency/staffing preferred)
- Experience recruiting accounting and finance professionals strongly preferred
