Mark Flaherty
Partner
Mark has 25 years of experience in the industry. He has driven outstanding results because he takes the time to understand what success looks like for both the client and consultant. Mark believes successful hiring is more of an art than a science and is achieved with thorough due diligence and a keen sense of everyone’s motivations.
Mark grew up in Minnesota and really enjoys all the seasons this state has to offer, including winter, as he is a big hockey fan. When he is not working, he also enjoys relaxing at the lake up North, with his wife and two kids.
Gwen Martin
Partner
Gwen has over 25 years of experience in the consulting industry. She has developed a deep network of business relationships here in the Twin Cities. She gets energy from connecting people and seeing them succeed. Gwen is naturally interested in different industries and business models and has a knack for seeing potential and bringing that forward. An entrepreneur at heart, she has achieved a track record of success by operating from the intersection of high EQ meets curiosity and integrity.
Gwen has served on the Board of Peoples Organic, Spyglass Creative, and the University of St. Thomas School of Entrepreneurship.
Gwen lives with her family in Minneapolis and makes great use of the city lakes. She is an urban enthusiast and can be found biking, walking the lake trails or paddle boarding.

Susan Haugen
Partner
Susan has over 25 years of experience in the finance industry. After a corporate career, she became a respected consultant with a long run of challenging engagements, finding success with a wide range of clients. She is now drawing on that experience to work with other consultants – identifying talent and encouraging their strengths.
Susan has always been a natural connector, understanding what a client needs, identifying a consultant with that talent, and engaging them toward a common goal. She’s passionate about consulting as a career path and is excited to help people make significant contributions.
Susan is actively engaged in local Minnesota art and culture and currently serves as the Chair of the Board of the Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Center. She’s working hard to raise two empathetic kids and tries to see as much live music as she can.
Lindsey Mortinson
Business Development Director
Lindsey has spent over a decade in accounting, finance, and treasury including 5 years of experience at a Big Four public accounting firm. She also worked on the corporate side and even sat in the consulting seat herself! Her experience across so many different aspects of the business gives Lindsey a unique perspective to best support clients as they encounter roadblocks and need immediate solutions. Outside of Lindsey’s professional career, she loves to travel the world and spend time outside soaking up all the activities of Minnesota, including hockey, snowboarding, golf, boating/paddleboarding on the beautiful lakes, running/walking with her two Siberian huskies, and spending quality time with her wonderful husband and beautiful daughter.
Brian Roth
Business Development Director
To kick start his career, Brian spent over 10+ years in a variety of corporate FP&A and treasury roles. Fortunately, he stumbled across the interim consulting space where for 8 years he took on many challenging and rewarding roles ranging from analyst to Director-level in FP&A, accounting, treasury, pricing and investor relations. His strong experience as a long-time consultant and unmatched passion for the value and expertise that interim talent brings to the table gives him instant credibility in his business development role.
Brian grew up in Ohio (Go Buckeyes!) and moved to Minnesota 20 years ago. When not working, Brian feeds his addiction on a pickleball court, hangs out with his wife and 4 girls at the local movie theater or playing games at home, and serves in his church congregation. He’s currently perfecting his spring roll recipe!
Dave Pfeifer
Business Development Director
Dave has over 20 years of experience as a CPA in corporate accounting and finance roles in global organizations including a Big Four public accounting firm and Fortune 50 companies right here in the Twin Cities. Over his corporate career, he has led organizational success in financial reporting, technical accounting, and budget planning. He has built processes and teams that work efficiently directing month-end close and leading transactional teams in revenue and procurement. His broad experience from managing system implementations to leading teams through audits gives Dave insights into the challenges facing finance leaders today.
Dave’s natural curiosity and passion for connecting with people is a great fit for recruiting. He enjoys seeing others succeed through relationships and knows first-hand the value a recruiter brings to the table.
Dave is a proud Gopher after earning his MBA at the Carlson School of Management. He also serves as the Treasurer for his neighborhood association. In his free time, you’ll find Dave outside playing golf and pickleball or on his annual family road trip with his wife and 2 daughters stopping at National Parks on the way to the beach!
Liz Seaman
Business Development Director
Liz is a CPA with over 10 years of audit and internal audit experience in a Big Four public accounting firm and global Fortune 100 companies. She understood early on in her career working with all types of clients was key to establishing trust as an auditor and becoming a valued teammate. She developed her client service skills, while maintaining a strict adherence to providing stakeholders with fair financial statements. After taking a period of time to raise her three children full-time, she is back in the workforce and energized to find the best consultants for the financial and accounting needs of our Scouts Talent clients.
Liz’s strong finance career background and natural connector personality, makes her a great fit for the recruiting industry.
In her free time, you’ll find Liz on the tennis court where she is a proud coach for a local high school. Liz lives in Edina, alongside her husband, kids and beloved yellow lab.
Nick Petersen
Business Relationship Director
Nick spent the first 10 years of his career in financial services. The majority of his efforts were spent establishing and expanding independent financial advisory firms. Through these efforts, Nick developed his niche for recruiting and investing in the next generation of financial advisors and industry leaders.
Nick has a genuine interest in motivating others to go beyond what is expected. His drive is altruistic, directed at working with and for others as their needs and concerns arise.
Apart from connecting and serving his clients, Nick enjoys being outside and active. Some of his favorite things are fishing, biking, enjoying time with friends and family at the lake, and volunteering at his church.
Jasmine Webber
Business Relationship Manager
Jasmine has spent the last decade in Minnesota’s talent industry, including work with financial services and Fortune 100 and 500 companies. Originally from Wisconsin, she moved to Minnesota for college and has built a career dedicated to helping others succeed. She thrives on helping people achieve their career goals and believes in the power of a simple conversation or connection to create life-changing results. A former collegiate swimmer, Jasmine brings the same drive and determination to making the best career matches for her clients and candidates. Outside of work, she enjoys running, yoga, scuba diving, and staying active with her husband, Anthony and their two young boys.
Debbie Pirkl
Controller
Debbie joined Scouts Talent as Controller after 25 years in corporate accounting and finance. Her skills in financial analysis and budgeting translate well from the large corporate organization to our growing business. Her passion for ensuring quality and integrity is complemented by her analytical, common sense approach. Debbie brings forward-thinking accounting controls and efficient processes to our team.
Debbie grew up in West St. Paul and lives there with her husband and son. She is active in her church, serving on the Executive Council and several other committees. Debbie enjoys cooking for family and friends and playing golf. She loves to travel around the world to visit friends, play golf and try new foods and cultures.
Stephanie Kaihoi
Marketing & Communications Lead
Stephanie has spent 15 years training and equipping leaders how to invest, mentor and engage in intergenerational relationships. She led diverse teams to develop bi-lingual curriculum, trainings, conferences, and leadership retreats for both a national and global audience. Since coming to Scouts Talent, Stephanie has found a deep appreciation for creating opportunities to better serve the Scouts Talent team and help them personally connect with their growing Twin Cities network.
Stephanie is grateful for her family and spends most of her time raising her two young children alongside her husband in Northeast Minneapolis. When given the opportunity, Stephanie loves to travel, enjoy farmers markets, paint, golf, garden, and invest in her church family and community.
