Kim | Consultant
Finance strategists like the support they get from Scouts Talent.
Coming off a multi-year, full-time position as the Director of Strategy Execution and Global Business Process for a software security and device manufacturer, Kim was excited to get back to consulting work. “I’m a quick learner. I like change and the fast pace of contracting. I love a challenge.”
Equipped with an education in economics and banking, Kim wanted to grow her business skills at a faster rate than the normal accounting career path. “In my late 20s, I started consulting. I soon began working with senior-level executives. Consulting exposed me to a lot of diversity, both in people and in business challenges.” Kim has always been energized by the ability to impact change by applying her knowledge to add real value.
Yet some placement agencies don’t support consultants well. “I felt like I had to take each offer—with zero follow-up from the agency. For them, it’s one and done—onto the next body,” says Kim. “I couldn’t get ahold of them. That’s when I made a commitment to never work with a large agency again.”
Coming off her full-time position in the fall of 2020, Kim immediately reached out to Mark Flaherty and the team at Scouts Talent because they had worked together in the past. “Within 2 weeks of meeting, Scouts called me with a new opportunity—I was on the job shortly after that call. In all my years of consulting, this has been the fastest engagement ever.” Scout’s trusted relationship with the client made the process for both parties easier. “Scouts is big on relationships. They are personal, caring advocates for me. They have my back.”
