If you could try a different job for a day, what would you choose?

I would like to be a fishing guide – possibly for a few days!

What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?

Invest time upfront to network and learn. Life science companies operate in an increasingly complex environment. Developing strong relationships and leveraging the expertise within your organization is critical.

What is your mantra?

Empower the team and always value the perspectives and opinions of others.

How do you get yourself out of a slump?

A few things help. If at work I like to organize my office and clean out my inbox. However, hanging out with my 3 daughters always works best.

What companies or leaders do you admire?

I have always admired leaders with humility, selflessness and the desire to roll up their sleeves.

What has been the biggest shift you’ve noticed in your industry in the last decade?

Over the last several years there have been a number of dynamic changes in the competitive landscape. As a Pharmaceutical manufacturer, we have seen an ongoing wave of customer consolidation in the Generic space. In addition, the rate at which competitors are entering the market has increased significantly.

Who has been most instrumental in your career?

Two people have been instrumental…my father and wife. Growing up, my father owned a small manufacturing company. He was successful despite competitors manufacturing in lower cost geographies. Through him I learned the importance of relationships and work ethic. I have watched my wife build a successful career, balance career and family, and now focus more on family while supporting me. Through her I have learned the importance of balance, communication and commitment.

What is your go-to celebration meal, drink or tradition?

I tend to keep it pretty simple. Pizza and a beer always works.
