If you could try a different job for a day, what would you choose?

I think I’d try Broadway for a day. Really similar to being a CFO, huh? The lights, the excitement and the changes in emotions of the audience that the actors make happen would be so fun to try.

What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?

Be yourself. Don’t change who you are to please someone else. Yes, we all need to make improvements and we can learn so much from great leadership but stay true to the core of who you are.

What is your mantra?

Learn to dance in the rain. Life will have its ups and downs, as will work. We need to take each of those moments and not only make the best of the moment, but figure out how to learn from it. There is a great book by a friend called “Better or Bitter” and I think those are great words to challenge ourselves how we are going to show up each day. We are the only ones who control this response.

How do you get yourself out of a slump?

It’s time to turn on the Hamilton Broadway soundtrack and go for a run, and with friends is even better!

What companies or leaders do you admire?

There are so many amazing leaders that I have had the blessing to work with over the years. I’ve worked for entrepreneurs, visionaries and some of the smartest people I could ever imagine meeting. I’ve tried to take pieces from each of these leaders to become a better leader myself.

What has been the biggest shift you’ve noticed in your industry in the last decade?

I would say that the shift is happening right now. Healthcare has always been a changing environment, but with the aging population, the U.S. is now facing a real challenge with the demand for better science, outcomes to treat older patients, and reimbursement constraints. As science is advancing, at Be The Match, we are constantly evolving to ensure we are providing the most relevant services for our life-saving mission.

Who has been most instrumental in your career?

My husband. Without his support I would not have been able to do everything I have done. He is my biggest cheerleader – during the good and difficult times. He has allowed me to prioritize my career, which has given me so much fulfillment and joy – ultimately making me a better, happier person.

What is your go-to celebration meal, drink or tradition?

A chocolate martini – both a dessert and a drink!
